Those of you who are unfamiliar with PayPal, PayPal is an eBay company. It allows people to send and receive money online. There’s no fee to open an account, and it costs nothing to send money or have it transferred to your U.S. bank account.

PayPal is the safer, easier way to pay and get paid online. The service allows anyone to pay in any way they prefer, including through credit cards, bank accounts, buyer credit or account balances, without sharing financial information.
PayPal has quickly become a global leader in online payment solutions with more than 164 million accounts worldwide. Available in 190 markets and 17 currencies around the world, PayPal enables global ecommerce by making payments possible across different locations, currencies, and languages.

PayPal has received more than 20 awards for excellence from the internet industry and the business community -most recently the 2006 Webby Award for Best Financial Services Site and the 2006 Webby People’s Voice Award for Best Financial Services Site.

Located in San Jose, California, PayPal was founded in 1998 and was acquired by eBay in 2002.

PayPal also offers debit and credit cards which are connected to your PayPal account. They also have a money market that allows you to collect interest on your PayPal balance.  If you use the PayPal debit card you can also get 1.5% cash back on certain purchases. I particularly like to use my PayPal debit card to pay for gas, groceries, and general household items at CVS stores.  It’s always handy to get cash back on these everyday needs.

Sign up for PayPal and start accepting credit card payments instantly.

  1. I agree on ”PayPal is the safer, easier way to pay and get paid online. The service allows anyone to pay in any way they prefer, including through credit cards, bank accounts, buyer credit or account balances, without sharing financial information.”.I use paypal.

  2. Yes, PayPal has achieved wide acceptance. The IRS even takes PayPal statements in addition to your regular bank statements for interest income. Many of the clients in my computer and web site business welcome the advantages of paying through PayPal, and they’ve asked other vendors to use PayPal as well.
