My TigerDirect Recommendations

ebillmeHere are a few items worth looking at over at TigerDirect.com this weekend. Plus you can save $30 on any order over $100 (before tax and shipping) when you purchase using eBillMe for the first time. Just select eBillMe at checkout, TigerDirect emails you a bill, and then you can pay cash at any MoneyGram location near you, or from your online banking account.

Refurbished Clearance Event: TigerDirect is clearing out the refurbished items inventory. These are generally items that were returned because the original buyer changed their mind, or realized they ordered the wrong item, returned gifts, or items that were missing parts (which have since been repackaged in full). Here are a few standout items:

Asus Essentio

Asus Essentio

Asus Intel Pentium Desktop PC ($300): This looks like a hot item (aka very desirable). Asus is one of the leading motherboard manufacturers in the world. This unit comes with an Intel Pentium E2200 2.,2GHz dual core processor, and 4 GB DDR2 RAM (Memory. 4 GB is the most you can add to any 32 bit computer these days). It also has a DVD burner, an HDMI video connector for plugging into a large screen HDTV or monitor, a VGA for use with your current monitor, a 640 GB hard drive (storage), wired and wireless internet capability (very nice), and a media card reader that handles MMC, SecureDigital (SD), and MemoryStick (MS). That will allow you to transfer your photos from your digital camera easily. TigerDirect says they are running out of these, so you better act fast.

Satellite L355-S7905

Satellite L355-S7905

Toshiba 17″ Notebook ($400): I love Toshiba laptops and notebooks. In my opinion they’re a leader in the market. This notebook computer has an Intel Celeron processor,  3 GB or RAM (Memory), a 160 GB hard drive (storage), a DVD Burner, a 17 inch screen with a fantastic 1440 by 900 resolution, a media card reader for MemoryStick (PRO), SecureDigital (SD), and MMC. It runs on on Windows Vista Basic. (You can always upgrade to Windows 7 on October 22.)

hp-printer

HP PhotoSmart C4580

HP PhotoSmart C4580 All-in-One Color Printer ($70): This color printer also scans and copies. You can insert your media card from your camera to print your digital photos directly. The card reader supports MemoryStick (MS), MemoryStick Duo, SecureDigital (SD), xD, and MMC. Another great feature is its Wireless (WiFi) capabiliuty which allows you to print directly from your wireless computer or laptop to the printer. The paper tray holds 100 sheets, and it prints at a top speed of 23 pages per minute. Color 4×6 photos print in about 25 seconds.

Acer Aspire One

Acer Aspire One

Pink Acer Aspire One AOA150-1483 Netbook ($240): Need a netbook? Want to run it on a 3G network? Then I highly recommend this Acer Aspire netbook. Whenever someone comes to me looking for a laptop or notebook, Acer is always in my top five list. This netbook is no exception. It comes with an Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor, 1 GB or RAM (memory), a 160 GB hard drive (storage). One of the best features of this netbook is it has 3G connectivity capability for use on the same wireless networks used by today’s smartphones. (You’ll probably have to get an account with a cellular provider to access it though. 3G isn’t free yet.) Other features include a media card reader (Memory Stick, xD, SD, and MS PRO), a microphone input and a headphone port, plus wired or wireless Internet capability. Admittedly, it’s pink, but it’s loaded. You could always opt to add on a $15 or $20 netbook skin wrap to hide it’s color.

There are still many more items to choose from at TigerDirect’s refurbished items clearance sale.

By the way, it was my birthday this week, so you could always send me something as a gift.  (Wink). Yes, I know, I’m shameless. … Ship it to Skylarking  @ 2094 Newbridge Road, Bellmore, NY 11710. … Shameless.

Those of you who are unfamiliar with PayPal, PayPal is an eBay company. It allows people to send and receive money online. There’s no fee to open an account, and it costs nothing to send money or have it transferred to your U.S. bank account.

PayPal is the safer, easier way to pay and get paid online. The service allows anyone to pay in any way they prefer, including through credit cards, bank accounts, buyer credit or account balances, without sharing financial information.
PayPal has quickly become a global leader in online payment solutions with more than 164 million accounts worldwide. Available in 190 markets and 17 currencies around the world, PayPal enables global ecommerce by making payments possible across different locations, currencies, and languages.

PayPal has received more than 20 awards for excellence from the internet industry and the business community -most recently the 2006 Webby Award for Best Financial Services Site and the 2006 Webby People’s Voice Award for Best Financial Services Site.

Located in San Jose, California, PayPal was founded in 1998 and was acquired by eBay in 2002.

PayPal also offers debit and credit cards which are connected to your PayPal account. They also have a money market that allows you to collect interest on your PayPal balance.  If you use the PayPal debit card you can also get 1.5% cash back on certain purchases. I particularly like to use my PayPal debit card to pay for gas, groceries, and general household items at CVS stores.  It’s always handy to get cash back on these everyday needs.
